Obituary

It is with great sadness that Jeffrey Alan Trojanowski, 56, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading with his family holding his hands as he was called home. He fought a courageous battle against an aggressive cancer with unwavering faith and always a smile on his handsome face.

Jeff was the loving husband of Anna (MacNeill), with whom he shared 32 years of marriage, and the adoring father to three children: sons, Justin (his fiancé, Danielle) and Taylor, and daughter, Devon.

His journey began in Pottstown, PA, the son of Robert Trojanowski and the late Mary Ann (Rapchinski) Trojanowski. Jeff attended St. Peter’s Grade School and St. Pius X High School, surrounded by a large group of tight knit childhood friends whose shenanigans always included much laughter along with demerits and frowns from their educators. Jeff went on to spend a year and a half at Lock Haven University before realizing his true calling as an electrician. He entered the IBEW apprenticeship program, with strong encouragement from his father, and very quickly grew to love the program, the work and most of all the people that he was surrounded by every day in the classroom and on the job. A true legacy of brotherhood and friendship spanning 35 years.

In addition to family, sports were a huge part of Jeff’s life - from participating in football, basketball, baseball and golf teams during his childhood and high school years to coaching and cheering on his own children in multiple sports. Dressed in full sports gear, his deep voice could be heard loudly cheering, coaching and sometimes questioning referee calls from the couch, stands and sidelines. Jeff was forever the practical jokester, the life of the party, the bright light in the room and could always find something to laugh about.

Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife and children are his father, Robert; brothers, Bob Jr. (fiancé Bonnie) and Brian (wife Amy); sister Karen Owens (husband Denny); John Rapchinski (cousin and stand-in little brother) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends too numerous to mention that Jeff considered family along his journey and truly loved.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10:15am in St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA, 19606. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611, and again on Tuesday, April 2 from 9:30 until time of Mass at St. Catherine of Siena RCC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jeffrey’s honor may be made to IBEW 98/NECA Scholarship Fund, 1719 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA,19130 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1640, Hagerstown, MD, 21741.
