Augusta – Richard W. Comstock, 69, of Byron, passed away Wednesday, March 27th at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta with his family by his side. His friend Darlene Naoum has been by his side for the last 18 months. He was born January 6, 1955, in Rumford, the son of Darrold and Beryl (Lohnes) Comstock. He was a graduate of Mexico High School and continued his education at University of Maine Augusta receiving an associate degree in Criminal Justice. Richard worked as an Emergency Disaster Coordinator and Safety Officer at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta. Richard also served as selectman for the Town of Byron. He is survived by his father Darrold Comstock of Mexico, his son, Daryl Comstock of Byron, his daughters, Darcie Calden and husband Bill of Jay, and Dorene Sikora and husband John of Chesapeake, VA., Aleshanee Brannigan of Fairfield, and Jamie Surrett of NC., grandchildren, Brayden and Briana, and his sister Pam Rowley of Peru.
