Obituary

Joseph Ruzzo, age 58, formerly of Medfield, MA passed away Tuesday March 12, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Meredith Ruzzo, of Savannah, GA and their two dogs, Watson and Indy.

He was born in Hyde Park as the fourth of eleven children to the late Dorothy and Tony Ruzzo. The family later moved to Medfield where he was active in youth sports. Joe graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School and attended Salem State College.

In 2015, Joe took a job opportunity in Savannah Georgia which proved to be life changing. Joe met the love of his life, Meredith Lindsay, whom he married in April 2020. He was a cherished member of Meredith’s family and he loved spending time with them.

While they were only together for a short period of time, they lived every day to its fullest.  Together they enjoyed VW car shows, parades, polar plunges and dressing in costume for favorite occasions. Joe would always offer to help family, friends, and neighbors with projects around their house, big or small. He was devoted to his mother; often taking her to breakfast, stopping in for tea, or calling just to brighten her day.

Joe’s life was a celebration. He was outgoing and would talk to total strangers; he always made you feel welcome. You could hear him a mile away whistling or singing a tune to made up lyrics. He was happy and loud and left a big footprint wherever he went.
