Richard M. “Radar” Martin, age 75, of Clinton, passed away peacefully with Careline Hospice Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Trellis Gardens Assisted Living in Jackson. He was born on August 10, 1948, to Roberta M. (Kreitzburg) Martin in Detroit, MI. Radar served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971. He attended Henry Ford Community College, where he obtained his Associate’s Degree. Radar was a Millwright, Skilled Tradesman with Ford Motor Company until his retirement in July of 2005. He was a member of Clinton Masonic Lodge #175, where he served as Past Master in 1994. Radar was also member of the Hall-Slater VFW post 4187 and American Legion Underwood-Orr Post 34 in Tecumseh. He enjoyed riding his Harleys all over the country, wintering in Florida, and playing golf.

Radar is survived by one daughter, Kristine (Ryan) VanDerKooi of Allendale, MI; one son, Nicholas (Sheila) Martin of Adrian; four grandchildren, Andrea and Steven Martin, Aubrey and Kenton VanDerKooi; one brother, William (Dana) Anderson of Kingsford, MI; and two sisters, Suzanne Smith, and Darlene (Tom) Hubbard, both of Westland, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Roberta Anderson; one sister, Roberta “Bobby” Martin; and brother-in-law Robert Smith.

Visitation for Radar will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with a 7:00 p.m. Masonic service. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Maryann Reimund officiating. Per Radar’s wishes, cremation will follow the funeral services.
