Randall Lloyd "Randy" Turner
<p>Randall “Randy” L. Turner, 73, of Maquoketa, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024, at his home.</p><p><br></p><p>Randy was born at St Luke’s Hospital, son of James E. Turner and Lauretta A. (Hoyer) Turner.</p><p><br></p><p>Randy graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1968. He then married Joy Booth in 1969. Three girls were born of this union. They lived in Minnesota, Virginia, and Florida.</p><p><br></p><p>In 1994, Randy married Michelle Bender in West Palm Beach, Florida. They had one daughter together.</p><p><br></p><p>Randy had a larger-than-life personality and felt he had lived his life to the fullest. He loved working as an arborist and was the happiest when he had a chainsaw in his hand and a skid loader nearby. His company Turner Tree Care began cleaning up natural disasters in 1996, which took him on adventures all around the country. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and Dive Master.</p><p><br></p><p>In 2001, Randy moved his family from West Palm Beach back to Maquoketa. He worked as a truck driver for Innovative Ag , and then started his own trucking company, Random Line Trucking. He was proud of the fact that he delivered loads from Maine to Arizona, Florida to Washington, and Canada.</p><p><br></p><p>Randy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Michelle and sister Lynette Ostwinkle. He will be dearly missed by his children Robin (Rob) Jones of North Carolina; Renee’ (Nathan) Earnest of North Carolina; Brittany (Michael) Ray of South Carolina; Deanna (Konagher) Parris of Florida; step-daughter Heidi (Jake) Oglesby, Dubuque; grandchildren Courtney Jones; Calyssa (Chase) Dawson; Chantel Jones; Aurora and Kallum Parris; Arlo Oglesby; and great-grandson Harlan Jones.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents James and Lauretta Turner.</p><p><br></p><p>Randy had his body donated to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. A memorial service is pending.</p><p><br></p><p>Randy’s family would like to thank Hospice of Jackson County for their care, compassion and support. Also, to Randy’s friends and neighbors who took the time to spend time with him and help the family in so many ways, we are forever grateful.</p>Obituary
