<p>David Hillegas, son of David and Eleanor Hillegas, died on March 23, 2024. He is survived by his wife Yancey, his three children Jody (John), Courtney (Bob), and David (Heather) and his five grandchildren Bobby, Riley, Maisy, Jane and Charley. Dave is also survived by his brother Don Hillegas (Jamie), brother-in-laws Hank Graves (Jana) and Henley Graves (Cheryl), sister-in-law Susan Fentzloff and by his nieces Julie, Cary, Megan, Whitney and Yancey, and nephews Tyler and Hunter. He was predeceased by his nephew, Michael Hillegas, and his brother-in-law, Bill Fentzloff.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a quote from Dave, “Since I met Yancey on the beach, my life has been wonderful, happy, and relaxed; and Yancey (Yum Yum) has been my ‘Baby Doll.’ Jody, Courtney, and David, along with the grandchildren, have been the best family I could ever have. They are special. All my love to Yancey and the children. See you in heaven.”</p><p></p><p>In lieu of a memorial, the family will honor Dave’s wishes for a private family gathering.
