<p>Gary Duane Quincy, age 85, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 8:04 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Mt. Sterling Health and Rehab Center.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>He was born May 22, 1938 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois the son of Ivan Howard and Gladys Pauline Rigg Quincy.&nbsp; He married Joyce Parker on September 2, 1961 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and she survives.&nbsp; </p><p>Mr. Quincy worked as a supervisor for Jefferson Smurfitt in Beardstown, Illinois for over 37 years.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>He graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1956 and was of the Methodist faith.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>Gary was an avid outdoorsmen and truly enjoyed hunting.&nbsp; He served on the State of Illinois Deer Task Force, helped stock the turkey’s in the community, was a member of the Mt. Sterling Lake Committee, a member of the Griggsville Gun Club and was a hunter safety instructor for several years.&nbsp; </p><p>Survivors include his wife Joyce Quincy of Mt. Sterling.&nbsp; 1 daughter Christine Babb (Mike) of Mt. Sterling.&nbsp; 3 grandchildren Jami Schuwerk (Steve), Josh Babb (Carly) and Molly Burton (Jake) all of Mt. Sterling.&nbsp; 11 great grandchildren Harrison, Drew, Ainsley, Grayson, Kellan, Eva, Mila, Nora, Brooklyn, Sawyer and Lowan.&nbsp; 1 brother Roger Quincy (Pat) of Mt. Sterling.&nbsp; 3 sisters-in-law Diana Quincy of Aurora, Colorado, Jutta Parker of Mississippi and Janet Parker of Mt. Sterling, Illinois also survive along with several nieces and nephews.&nbsp; </p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Richard Quincy.&nbsp; </p><p>Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Dale Gadberry officiating.&nbsp; </p><p>Burial of the cremated remains will follow in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.&nbsp; </p><p>Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.&nbsp; </p><p>Memorials are suggested to the Brown County Little League or Brown County Quail Forever to benefit the BC Hornet Trap Shooting Team.&nbsp; </p><p>Condolences for the family may be left on line at hendrickerfuneralhome.com.&nbsp; </p><p>The Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Obituary

Gary Duane Quincy, age 85, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 8:04 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Mt. Sterling Health and Rehab Center.  

He was born May 22, 1938 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois the son of Ivan Howard and Gladys Pauline Rigg Quincy.  He married Joyce Parker on September 2, 1961 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and she survives. 

Mr. Quincy worked as a supervisor for Jefferson Smurfitt in Beardstown, Illinois for over 37 years.  

He graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1956 and was of the Methodist faith.
