Lorillia Banks Obituary

Smoothly, entering planet Earth, Ms. Lorillia “La’reea” Banks, was born on November 30th, 1950 to Earl S. Banks Sr. and Mary Anna (McClain) Banks. Unexpectedly, she surprisingly, transitioned this life on Sunday, March 24th, 2024, at the age of 73.

The oldest of her siblings, she became rebellious, and was sent to live with her grandmother, temporarily, in which she was taught how to pluck live chickens, milked cows, clean fish and other animals in order to eat, and learned how to grow and mend a garden. She also helped her grandfather sale the vegetables. These experiences made her an amazing cook, housekeeper, and a devoted care giver.

Intrigued by the street life, at a young age, she stepped away (strayed) from her church upbringing and began to party and hustle; creating, taking, and following her own life path and making her own rules, along the way.

Very intelligent, and knowledgeable, she attended Scott High School, University of Toledo, Owens, and The School of Hard-Knocks.

Fun, funny, and outgoing, she loved life to the fullest and tried to help everyone.

Tired of living a fast life, she changed for the better and began working various jobs as; a caregiver, housekeeper, cook, and factories.

Returning to the church, she quickly joined the choir and helped to create and format, The Greater St. Mary’s Mime Ministry.

Lorillia “La’reea” is preceded in death by her Fiancé, Terry Woodmore, great-grandson, Trevor Lidell Jr., sister, Rosalyn Banks, brothers, Wayne Banks Sr., Earl Banks Jr., Lavell Banks, her parents; Earl and Mary Anna Banks. As well as, her maternal grandparents; Charlie and Bertha McClain, and paternal grandparents; Eddie and Earlie Heard.

Carrying her legacy forward, she leaves her kids: Robert Banks, Quentin Banks Sr., Earlie (Sabrina) Banks, Willena (Lena) Banks, and Sparkles Hamilton. Grandchildren; De’Andre Banks, Gerald (JB) Banks, Juan Sallie-Banks, Kieshaun Banks Sr., Kyon Banks, Que’Miracle Riley, Aaliyah Hamilton, Quentin Banks Jr., Summer Banks, Donshell Banks and La’reea Banks, great-granddaughter, Omarionna Banks, great-great grandsons, Kieshaun Banks Jr. and Little Kenny Jr. Sister, Deborah Banks, brothers, Michael (Rita) Banks and Jermaine (Paris) Lamb. Honorable Mention to her niece, Lee Ann (LeLe) Banks and nephew, Devon Banks. Plus, a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, that she truly loved genuinely (too many to name). As she loved to say, “What’s known doesn’t need to be explained.”
