Angeline Love

Angeline Love, 95, passed away March 26, 2024 at Maplecrest Nursing Home in Struthers, Ohio. Prior to her stay at Maplecrest Nursing Home she lived for five years at the Inn at Poland Way. She was born on August 31, 1928 in New Castle, PA, the daughter of the late Fred and Catherine Pisano Gillest.

She attended New Castle High School and graduated in 1946. She went on to work at Shenango China. She married her husband, the late Doyle Love on August 30, 1947. They were married for 46 years until his death in November 1993. Angeline and Doyle were very active in Veterans affairs in Lawrence County, PA.

Angeline was a member of Wesley Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

She is survived by her son, Fred Love and his wife Cheryl of Poland, Ohio, one grandchild Kevin Love and his wife Mary of Chevy Chase, MD, three great-grandchildren Mary Love, Ann Love and Kevin Love.

Angeline lived happily at The Inn at Poland Way for the last 5 years of her life. Angeline’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of the wonderful staff at The Inn at Poland Way and Maplecrest Nursing Home. Special thanks to the Hospice of the Valley for their care and compassion shown to Angeline during her illness.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Nettie Donofrio, Vera Brown and Loretta Zarilla and one brother Tracy Gillest.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of the Valley, Youngstown, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S Mill Street, New Castle, PA. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Frederick Gilbert will officiate.

Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
