Terrance Peter Ross, age 92, born August 1st, 1931, died peacefully on March 26, 2024, surrounded by family at Harbor Hospice Poppen House in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born to Henry and Mary Ann Ross and is survived by his wife Annie Ross of 15 years, his children Tim (Betty) Ross of Montague, Michelle (John) Hare of Fort Myers, Florida, Patty Ross and Cathy Viilo both of Muskegon, His grandchildren, Melanie Klomp, Meagan Ross, Jillian Taylor, Scott Liskey, Erin Miller, Joshua Reagan, Amber Hubbard, Brandon Ross, Zack Ross, Endrea Ross, Angel Ross, Kenneth Johnson, Kristina Vanderberg and Kelly Tice, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and his brother Lawrence Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Marcella and Constance and his brothers Conrad, Gerald, Henry Jr, Clifford and Duwane.


Terry grew up in Muskegon and graduated high school in 1950 from St Jeans Catholic School and enlisted in the US Army in November of the same year. Terry served as an intelligence radio operator and was deployed on the front lines in the Korean War from 1952 to 1953. Following his army service, he used his GI Bill to study diesel engineering technology near Boston, Massachusetts. After his studies, he worked at Brunswick in Muskegon before managing Bob-Hi Lanes in the mid 1960's. He later managed Starlite Lanes in Grand Haven, eventually leaving in 1976 when he bought and managed the Oasis restaurant in Branch, Michigan until he retired in 1996. After retiring Terry often spent winters in Sun City West, Arizona. He was part of a Korean veteran war contingent honored by the South Korean government in 2006 who invited the group to Korea to recognize them for their service to the Korean people. He was also a member of the VFW and Foreign Legion.


Terry was an accomplished bowler in the Muskegon area and was inducted into the Greater Muskegon Bowling Hall of Fame in 2012. Besides his induction one of his most proud bowling accomplishments was taking 7th place out of over 6200 teams in the 1971 ABC Nationals bowling tournament with his team Love and Jasik Home Builders. His team often dominated Muskegon area elite bowling leagues during the early 70's. Terry was also an avid golfer throughout his life golfing primarily at Lincoln Golf Club in Muskegon where he was still a member. He golfed and bowled until he was 92 and particularly enjoyed golfing and bowling with his Lincoln gangsome friends. Terry also loved to travel, and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, making stained glass projects and woodworking crafts in his later years.


In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place and no public services are being planned at this time.
