The funeral service for Mr. Donald O'Neil Sills, 81, of Anniston, will be at 12 pm on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Anniston First Baptist Church at McClellan with, Rev. J. Mark Lash LeRoux, officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 am until the service hour at the church.

Mr. Sills passed away on March 26, 2024, in Anniston.

Mr. Sills was proud of the fact he grew up in south Anniston.  In 1962, he married his sweetheart, Zandra Waugh.  Mr. Sills attended the LSU Banking School and received degrees from Covington Theological Seminary.  He was a successful real estate developer for many years in Oxford.  Mr. Sills had a passion and love for his church, Anniston First Baptist Church at McClellan, and his Outreach Sunday School class.  He loved fishing, reading and studying the Bible, and watching his grandchildren play ball.  He also loved getting together with his family, which he did weekly.  Mr. Sills was a natural leader, an encourager, and influenced and affected many peoples' lives.

Mr. Sills is preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Lynn Sills, and his parents, Cloyce and Margaret Sills.

Survivors include his wife of almost 62 years, Zandra Sills; sons, Jerry Sills and his wife, Allison, and Donnie Sills and his wife, Lori; grandchildren, Alex Sills, Jack Sills, Emily Sills, and Janie Sills; step grandchildren, Kinley Smith and Grayson Tolbert; sister, Judy Boozer and her husband, Jeff; and  a brother, Tom Gilbert and his wife, Teri

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Building Fund at Anniston First Baptist Church at McClellan, 851 Morton Rd, Anniston, AL 36205.
