Angela Lynn Slagle Obituary

Angela Lynn “Angie” Slagle, age 54, of Canonsburg, formerly of Upper St. Clair, passed away with family by her side on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

Angie was born in Bristol, TN, on July 7, 1969, a daughter of Harmon C. Peters, Jr. and the late Lana (Gilley) Peters.

Angie was a 1987 graduate of Tennessee High in Bristol, TN, and attended college.

On January 31, 1998, she eloped and married her husband, Christopher L. Slagle.

Angie had a long and successful career in retail management. She started her career at apparel retailer, Maurice’s. Career advancement brought her to Structure (where she and Chris met), Bloomingdale’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Despite leaving the management ranks to focus more on Sabrina and Tori, she still dabbled in part-time retail, with Apple and J. Crew.

Angie has always had a love of music. Attending concerts with family and friends was a huge source of joy for her. Somewhere along the way, Angie and Chris took a liking to Nascar, which quickly became an obsession. Her favorite driver is Martin Truex Jr. and on September 25, 2022, while in attendance at Texas Motor Speedway, Angie was honored to have her name on Martin’s Car, as a Cancer Hero! Angie enjoyed attending many live sporting events (Pirates, Penguins and Steelers), but there was no live sporting event that was more important to her, than watching Sabrina play tennis, and Tori play golf.

Angie was a kind and loving soul, who frequently put others’ needs ahead of hers. She never wanted people to know how hard she was battling cancer. She did not want people to treat her differently than anyone else, so she was quick to divert attention from that, and focus her attentions on others. She was the best mother and wife that anyone could ask for. Sabrina and Tori are her pride and joy. Even when she was not feeling well, she was more focused on them, than herself.

Angie loved hard, battled cancer hard and lived life to its fullest!

Angie is survived by her beloved husband, Christopher L. Slagle; two amazing daughters, Victoria “Tori” Slagle and Sabrina (Nick) Slagle; her father, Harmon C. Peters, Jr.; her sister, Tommie (Eddie) Loudy; two nephews, Hayden (Whitney) Loudy and Zachary (Leah) Slagle; two nieces, Loren (Devon) Franklin and Sarah Slagle; her mother-in-law, Sharon Slagle; a brother-in-law, Scott (Kelly) Slagle; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Slagle; a sister, Terrie Morrow; and an aunt, Toni Peters.

Angie is preceded in death by her mother, Lana (Gilley) Peters, and her father-in-law, Robert Slagle.

A Celebration of Angie’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at The Club at Nevillewood from 2-4 p.m. Dress will be business casual, without a focus on the color black.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Angie's name may be made to The Nascar Foundation (Children's Charities).
