James Robert Pippin Obituary

Captain James R. (Jim) Pippin, USMC (Ret) died Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Grandview, MO. He was 95 years old, born September 29, 1928 in Huntsville, Randolph Co, MO. The son of Grover C. and Mary G. (Roberts) Pippin. He married Miss Eva Janette Hay February 10, 1951 in Cazenovia, Madison Co, NY.

He was preceded in death by his wife Eva H. Pippin and daughter Dianne M. (Rick) Harter.

He is survived by two daughters Sharon A. (Steve) Hall and Gail E. (Greg) Jones, a son, James M. (Karen) Pippin, six grandsons, three granddaughters, six great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters.

Jim Served 25 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring February 28, 1971. He was a veteran of World II, Korea and Vietnam. Purple Heart recipient, Vietnam, September 7, 1969.

A visitation for Jim will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 12913 Grandview Road, Grandview, MO 64030, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.

Additional visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home, 1221 N. Main St., Huntsville, MO 65259, followed by graveside with full military honors at Huntsville Cemetery.
