Emma Belle Scheeler (nee Tharp) passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Emma was born October 10, 1940 in Buckhannon, WV to Walter and Millie (Alkire) Tharp. She moved to NJ with her family in the 1950s where she met the love of her life, Roland, and had four children. She was a homemaker most of her life. She loved gardening, flowers, birds, doing puzzles, cooking and spending time with her family.

She is predeceased by her husband, Roland Scheeler; two sons, Wayne and Thomas Scheeler; her parents, Walter and Millie Tharp; 3 brothers, Willard, Jr. and Leroy Tharp; and sister, Rosie Johnson. She is survived by two daughters, Terry (Robert) Petruzzi of Mullica Twp and Charmian (Steve) Houle of Harrisburg, PA.; four grandchildren, Janine (Paul) Hoffmann, Amanda (Arthur) Meyer, Tyler and Harley Houle; one great grandson, Austin Eberle; one sister, Stella Tharp; and one brother, Robert (Barbara) Tharp, and many nieces and nephews.

Emma will be sadly missed, however, we take comfort in knowing that her husband and two sons were waiting to greet her in Heaven. She will forever be in our hearts.

A service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ, with visitation from 10-11:00 am.
