<p>James "Rodney" Mayo, 61 passed away in his home on Friday March 22, 2024. He was born to James and Betty (Dobson) Mayo on October 16, 1962 in Marion, Indiana. He graduated from Eastbrook High School. He married Sheila Carrico on August 21, 1996.</p><p><br></p><p>Rod was full of personality and did not know a stranger. He was very generous and quick to lend a helping hand or offer support. He loved to work and was dedicated to his job. He was an avid flat track race fan and a member of the AMA associated after racing from 1977-1980.</p><p><br></p><p>Rod is survived by his wife Sheila; daughter Marlee; father James Mayo; siblings Debbie (Eric) Jensen, Brad Mayo, Lori (Matt) Shuttleworth, and Brian (April) Mayo; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Mayo.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953 where visitation will be held on Monday April 1, 2024 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help defray the cost of funeral expense. Online memories and condolences may be made at www.armeshuntfuneralhome.com.</p>
