It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Melissa S. Palmeri, 44, of Vernon, CT. Melissa passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital after a battle with cancer. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family and close friend Bailey Russell.

Born in Hartford, CT, on August 31, 1979, she was the daughter of Cynthia Scacca and the late John Palmeri.

Melissa loved being a mom and devoted the last five years of her life to raising and caring for her miracle baby and the love of her life, 5-year-old Vincenzo Saloney.

Melissa is survived by her mother Cynthia Scacca, son Vincenzo Saloney and brother Christopher Palmeri. She also leaves a long list of loving aunts and uncles Tony Scacca, Val and David Nazgiewicz, Mark and Thelma Scacca, Gail Scacca, Tom and Joanne Scacca, Michael Palmeri, Kenneth Liappes and many, many cousins and close friends, including the father of her son Jonathan Saloney, her boyfriend Michael Liebowitz and her beloved cat Joey.

Family and friends may call on the John F. Tierney Funeral Home at 219 W. Center St., Manchester. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 4 to 6pm.

A dinner and celebration of Melissa's life will follow at 6:30 pm at the TKB Club, 1 Vernon Ave., Vernon.
