Annie Bell (Ann) King, 83, of Chambersburg, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024, after a brief illness. Born April 29, 1940, in Magnolia Arkansas, she was a graduate of Columbia High School. Ann was a daughter of the late Willie V. and Leo J. Ellis Coleman.

A military wife for the first 20 years of her marriage, Ann and her husband built a home full of humor and love for their family of four girls wherever the Army took them, including Letterkenny Army Depot. In Chambersburg, she was employed as a press operator at J. Schoeneman Co. Ann was a member and steward of St. James A.M.E. Church in Chambersburg where she sang in the church choir. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Jeptha Chapter #4, and she served as a member and president of the board of House of Grace Ministries for several years. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, and singing.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Samuel King, whom she married on July 3, 1959; four daughters, Frieda L. Scott of Chambersburg, Tonita M. King of Raleigh, NC, Sandra A. King (Mohamed Archane) of Seattle, WA, and Rev. Sherry L. Nunn (Rev. Kevin) of Neptune, NJ; four grandchildren, Stephen Luckers of Philadelphia, PA, Fabienne van Rijssen of Raleigh, NC, Destiny Nunn of Neptune, NJ, and Schuyler Dizard of Phillipsburg, NJ; one sister, Evelyn Frost (Rev. Charles, Sr.) of Conway, AR; and one brother-in-law, James O. King (Ruthell)of Magnolia, AR. Aside from her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Jurdine Thomas; and her son-in-law, Randolph Scott. She also leaves to mourn her loss many extended family members and friends whom she loved.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Unity In Christ Church, 4301 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Marilyn Hubbard will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. James A.M.E. Church, 510 S. Main Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
