Dorothy Evelyn Bradshaw-Spencer, age 95, Joplin, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Westgate in Joplin.

Dorothy was born August 29, 1928 in Norwood, MO, daughter of the late Ottie F. Bradshaw and Viola May (Brown) Bradshaw. She attended school in Lowell and Galena, KS where she graduated from High School. She met and married Melvin A. Berry on December 15th, 1946. She worked as a beautician for Newman’s Department Store during the 1960’s and later she worked as a Ward Clerk at St. John’s Hospital of Joplin retiring in 1993.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Hunter, four brothers, Ralph, Wayne, Leon and Darrell Bradshaw, and her granddaughter Melissa’s late husband, Sgt. Mike Bracker.

Survivors include her daughter, Vickie Berry Hudson and husband Dennis of Joplin; granddaughter, Melissa Bracker, grandson, Ryan Hudson and wife Tedra; four great-grandchildren, Austin Bracker, Nick Bracker, Scout Hudson, and Hawk Hudson; brother, Glenn Bradshaw of Willard, MO; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery.

The family wishes to convey their gratitude to Hospice Linda Morris, Nawatch Irwin, all the Staff at Westgate for their kindness and generous loving care.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
