Family & friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Good Friday, March 29th, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St. Revere, for Rita (Pasquantonio) Baglio, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26th at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere. She was 95 years old. A Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home at 12 Noon, immediately followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Rita was born February 2, 1929, the year of the great depression, to her late parents, Angelo and Margaret (Luongo) Pasquantonio. Rita and her sister Blanche were raised and educated in East Boston. Rita attended East Boston High School and married her husband, Salvatore Baglio in 1956. The couple raised their two sons, Anthony and Salvatore in East Boston. Rita was a loving mother who loved her hometown and took great pride in her home and family. Rita was a graduate of the Mansfield Beauty Academy and worked as a hairdresser and shop manager. She also enjoyed a 30-year career at MIT in Cambridge in the Food Service department and as a Student Housing coordinator. Rita enjoyed reading and loved music. She also had a beautiful singing voice. Rita embraced her Catholic faith and Easter was her favorite holiday; so it seems appropriate her life will be celebrated on Good Friday.
She is the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Baglio, the loving mother of Anthony Baglio and his wife Roseanne of Boxford, and Salvatore Baglio and his wife Karen of Marlborough; cherished grandmother of Kristoffer Baglio of Seattle, great grandmother of 3 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
