<p>James Floyd, Jr., beloved son of Bernice V. Floyd was born on June 24, 1962. He passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Nassawadox Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Nassawadox, Virginia. He was affectionally known as, “Floyd,” “ Tom,” “Uncle Tom,” “James,” “Uncle Jake,” and “Uncle James.” </p><p><br></p><p>James was educated in the Accomack County Public Schools . Until his health prevented him to do so, James worked in various industries. His last employment was with Perdue Farms. </p><p><br></p><p>James loved spending time and joking with family and friends. His favorite pastime was watching television and talking on the telephone. </p><p><br></p><p>James was preceded in death by his father, James Floyd, Sr.; sister, Annetta Sample; brother, Timothy Taylor; brothers-in-law, Avery Gray and Geno Sample; uncle, Edward Topping; and nephew, Antwine Mills. </p><p><br></p><p>He leaves to cherish his loving memories: mother, Bernice Virginia Floyd; two sisters, JoAnn Wise (Nathan Sr) and Margaret Gray; eight aunts, Dorothy Topping , Frances Chandler, Dorothy Floyd (Melvin), Sharon Floyd, Barbara Ann Floyd, Shirley Wise, Sylvia Wise, and Gladys Sampson (Layfield); two uncles, Tryone and Larry Floyd (Valerie); two nieces, Tierra Mills and LaKesha Morake (Rayvon Smith); four nephews, Nathan Wise, Jr. (Michaela), Shawntay Mills, Marcus Gray (Carolina), and Desmond Gray; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. </p><p><br></p><p>Sorrowfully submitted, </p><p>The Family</p>
