Kim Bierma, 71, of Zachary, LA, died on Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a native of Oceanside, NY. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 10am until service at 11am conducted by Pastor Timmy Straight, Dwight Jaggard and Marc Bierma. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Marc Bierma. Daughter Katelyn Raborn (spouse, Nathan Raborn) of Tampa FL; sons: David Bierma (spouse Kris Bierma) Houston, TX; Damon Bierma (spouse Amy Bierma), Pasadena, MD; Peter Bierma (partner Jaci Rasmussen) Bloomington, IN. Brothers: Keith Jaggard, Zachary, LA and Dwight Jaggard, Newtown Square, PA. Grandchildren: Arielle Bierma, Kai Bierma, Cohen Raborn and Finn Raborn. Kim had a BA in Education, Calvin University; MSW in Social Work, University of Houston. She was a Therapist and Hospice Social Worker. Most recently, Kim enjoyed traveling and going on dates with her husband; engaging with grandchildren; visiting with friends and family; reading and engaging in social media; walking and being outdoors. In her earlier life Kim played piano, French horn, violin and guitar; wrote music and led worship singing; sang in and directed choirs; taught high- school German and elementary school children.
