Polly Francis Samson

Polly Samson, 93, of Huntington, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, March 25, 2024 at Wayne Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2024 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV with Grandson Ryan Smith and Elder Tony Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Queen’s Ridge Cemetery, Dunlow, WV. She was born February 4, 1931 at Harts, WV, a daughter of the late Mose and Brookie Williamson. Polly was a longtime member of Salem United Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmael Samson, three brothers, Herbert, Grover and Tommy Williamson, and one sister, Jessie Vance. Survivors include a daughter, Lana Gail Smith (Frank) of Huntington, WV; a son, Dana James Samson of Huntington; two sisters, Nary Combs and Alta Rice; two brothers, Aley Williamson and Homer Williamson; five grandchildren, Alanna Cline (Michael), Ryan Smith (Jamie), Renee Samson, Deidre Jenkins (James) and Stephanie Samson; nine great-grandchildren, Michael Samson, Aidan Smith, Braxton Cline, Kaylee Smith, Jaxon Cline, Marshall Jenkins, Noah Jenkins, Bryson Samson and David Samson. The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff at Wayne Healthcare Center for the wonderful care they gave to our mother, grandmother and sister in her final days. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 Thursday evening at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne.
