SEYMOUR, CT: Florence (Boucher) Johns, age 90 of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Edward “Doc” Johns, entered peaceful rest on Monday, March 25, 2024 in her home surrounded by family. Born in Derby on November 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Katherine (Sauer) Boucher.

A dedicated teacher in the Seymour School System for many years, Florence had a passion for children and learning. She loved her community and was also a longtime member of the Board of Directors and past Secretary for Trinity Cemetery Association. Florence was an avid reader and always had a book ready in each room in her house. She was also very artistic, whether it be drawing or sewing, and also enjoyed watching sports, especially boxing and UCONN Huskies Basketball. Florence loved the outdoors, and was eager to share her knowledge of nature to her family and friends. A selfless and caring woman who was all about family, she never hesitated to open her home to those in need. Florence will be fondly remembered for her generosity and compassion to all who knew her, as well as her love for 70's rock.

Survivors include her loving children, Edward Johns and his companion Kym Papsin of Seymour, Laura Johns and her husband Anthony Astle of VA, Joyce Johns of RI, and Beth Keckler of Seymour; her brother, David Boucher; adored grandson, Hayden Keckler, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Edward, Florence was predeceased by her brothers, Armand and Gordon Boucher, devoted son-in-law, William “Bill” Keckler, as well as her first husband, Frederick Littlejohn, who tragically passed away at the age of 22.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 3pm to 7pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Memorial services celebrating Florence’s life will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 at 10am in the funeral home, and interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery, Seymour. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name will be directed to the Seymour Board of Education to purchase children's books for the elementary library.
