Blanca Iris Rivera

Blanca Iris Rivera, 83, affectionately known as Iris, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, at her home in Bridgeport, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 20, 1940, she was the cherished daughter of Juan Rivera and Carmen Morales, growing up in a Catholic household alongside five siblings.

At the age of 26, Iris ventured to Bridgeport, Connecticut, with her three children in search of employment. She found happiness in the simple joys of life, enjoying feeding the birds, fishing, visiting the casino, and playing scratch-offs. Known as the "mother of the neighborhood," Iris was adored by her community for her kindness and warmth.

She is survived by her two sons, Luis Rodriguez & daughter-in-law Virna Rodriguez and Miguel Rodriguez; including 10 grandchildren, Tony, Rodriguez, Jennifer Rodriguez, Luis A. Rodriguez, Junior, Lee Martorony, Juan Rodriguez, Jailene Rodriguez, Michael Rodriguez, Edwin, Padilla, Miguel Rodriguez; and 10 great-grandchildren. Iris will be dearly missed by her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Araceli Rodriguez, and son, Javier Cedeño.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 7:00PM to 9:00 PM, and Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 12:00PM to 1:00PM, at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT.
