Janet Elaine Karns

Janet Elaine Karns, 95, of Franklin passed away on March 26, 2024 at The Caring Place.

Born on October 25, 1928 in Oil City, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Perry and Edith (Verner) Moore.

She was the last surviving sibling of 11.

She was married to Ralph Karns and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Janet enjoyed reading, cooking and baking and was known as "The Cookie Lady".

Left to cherish her memory are her children Nathan Moore of Plant City, FL, Sherry Duplichain of Pearl, MS, and Debra and Delora Karns both of Bradleytown; her 10 grandchildren; her 20 great-grandchildren; and her 14 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Zinz; her great granddaughter; her 2 great-great grandchildren; her great nephew-in-law; and her 10 siblings.

Family and friends are invited to the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with the funeral service being held the same day at the funeral home at 2:00 pm with Retired Rev. Joseph P. Martin, Jr. officiating.

Janet will be laid to rest at Cooperstown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made in Janet's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
