<p>Nina Frances Barnett, age 82 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 23, 2024 following several years of declining health. Nina was born on March 2, 1942 in Joplin to the late Cecil and Gladys ‘Dorene’ (Earnest) Barnett.</p><p><br></p><p>Growing up in the Joplin area, she graduated school and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in California from the years of 1960-1963 when she was honorably discharged. She then attended school to become a L.P.N. where she worked for many years in the healthcare industry. Though unable to attend in many years due to health, Nina was a long-time member of Iron Gates Christian Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Other than her parents, Nina is preceded in death by a daughter, Sonia Anderson; sisters, Donna Cooper and Gladys Lane; brother, Jerry Barnett and a very special friend, Lana Jo McGinnis.</p><p><br></p><p>Nina is survived by daughter, Donna Readshaw, both of Joplin; grandchild, Samantha Daniell (Tyler) of Webb City; great-granddaughter, Nova Daniell; brother, David Barnett (Cathy) of Joplin; sister, Lorrayne Barnett of Joplin; and a host of extended family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>There are no services planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.</p><p><br></p>
