Carolyn Joan Copple Obituary

Carolyn Joan Copple, 88 of Coldwater, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at North Gilead Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.

She was born February 21, 1936 to Orville “Vernon” and Eva (Box) Cheney in Dearborn, MI. Joan led a varied career where she first began as an accountant with Max Larson, then served the Battle Creek Health System, and finally many dedicated years with Cameron Memorial Hospital where she ultimately retired. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Bronson and served as the children’s choir director at Northview Christian Church for many years. Joan was a talented pianist that played for the Lansing Chamber of Commerce in addition to giving piano lessons as well. Joan also found her joy in sewing, cooking, gardening, and watching her favorite old re-runs. She held a special place in heart for her pets; but above all else, Joan’s greatest passion in life was her family.

Joan leaves behind her daughter Laurie Copple of Coldwater; her grandchildren Joshua (Jolene) Warner of Phoenix, AZ, Abby (Christopher) Austin of Coldwater, Daniel (Laura) Bloch of Bainbridge, GA; her great grandchildren Kendall Austin, Kennedy Austin, Kannon Austin, Amaris Bloch, Elijah Bloch, Malachi Bloch, Jack Warner, Jane Warner; her loving nieces and nephews, and her son-in-law Jeff Bloch of Bronson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Cathy Bloch, and her brother Robert Cheney.
