<p>LANDIS, Robert Elwood affectionately known as Bob to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024, after a short illness. Born on October 15, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, where he also departed this life, Bob was a lifelong resident and a well-respected member of the community.</p><p><br></p><p>Bob was the cherished son of the late Emerson and Mary Landis and a loving brother to Bill Landis and Judy Mullins. He was a proud and supportive uncle to his three nieces, five nephews, and their children. Bob's presence at family gatherings, especially during the holidays and special events, will be profoundly missed.</p><p><br></p><p>Bob honorably served his country as an Army veteran before pursuing a career in accounting, a field in which he excelled after obtaining his bachelor's degree from Wright State University. His dedication to his profession was matched only by his commitment to giving back to his fellow service members and community. Bob volunteered his time and heart to the USO at Dayton Airport, where his gentle nature and friendly smile were a source of comfort and warmth to many.</p><p><br></p><p>Renowned for his kindness and affability, Bob forged lasting friendships wherever he went. He was a familiar face at the senior center and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), where he shared many good times with friends. An avid card player, Bob's strategic mind and good humor made him a favorite opponent and partner at the card table.</p><p><br></p><p>Bob's love for Ohio State Football was well-known among those close to him. He could often be found cheering on his team, reveling in their victories, and standing by them through the highs and lows of each season.
