Ida B. Foraker Obituary

Ida Foraker, age 90, beloved wife of James Foraker for 68 years, passed away peacefully on March 21st at Bickford Healthcare Center. Born in East Windsor, Ida was the eldest daughter of the late George and Grace (Samplatsky) Hunt. Ida held various jobs throughout her lifetime, retiring from WSRG as a Security Analyst. She was also a charter member of the United Methodist Church of Enfield. Ida was devoted to her husband, her family, and pets. She enjoyed gathering with friends, playing cards, and going out dancing. Once retired she traveled with her husband. Her hobbies included gardening, birdwatching, sewing, cooking, baking, and partook in a craft group at the Enfield Senior Center.


Besides her husband, she is survived by daughters, Linda Chevalier of Enfield, Lori Foraker-George (Eric) of Vernon, Denise Hutchinson (Bob) of Enfield, and her cat Storm. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Gill, Joyce Connor, Patty Graves, Judy Prunier, Janice Gay, a grandson, Todd Chevalier (Jennifer), great-grandchildren Billy Chevalier (Renee), Marissa Chevalier, Aria Chevalier, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a grandson, Mark Chevalier, former son-in-law Leonard Chevalier, and her siblings, Herbert, Robert, George, and Betty Hunt, Nancy Squires, and Shirley Wilson.


Visitation hours will be at Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield from 4 to 7 PM on Monday, April 1, 2024. The funeral service will be at 12:30 PM, April 2, 2024, at the United Methodist Church of Enfield. Committal will follow at Springdale cemetery in East Windsor.
