Hope Lashell Square, age 52 of Manistee, passed away on Saturday March 23, 2024.

She was born on the 11th of July, 1971 to the families of Alphonso and Catherine (Jackson) Square in Trenton, New Jersey, where she grew up and went to school at Trenton Central High School.

Hope worked as a Medical Assistant in Southfield and Detroit, MI for some years, then moved to Ocala, FL where she resided and worked until she returned to Michigan in 2012. She worked in Manistee, Ludington and finally with the Oceania Medical Center before her retirement in 2018.

She is survived by her husband Adeyinka Olumide Awomolo; sons Charles “JR”, Javon, Yosiah, and Adetokunbo; daughters Dominique, Diamond, and Yonyue; grandchildren Saniya, Jaylen, Javon, R’mani, Jizelle, D’Mari, D’Lantae, and Dominic; mother Catherine DuBois; brothers Alphonso “Tye” Square and Reginal Jackson; and sister Patricia Brown.

She was preceded in death by her father Alphonso Square, brother Alphonso “Slim” Brown, and son Sadik Square.

Hope, fondly called "babee" by her loving husband, was a loving, kind, committed and devoted daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was greatly loved by her family, her abundant love and smile will be immensely missed. Rest in perfect peace!!! The entire family and friends will forever have you at heart.

A visitation for Hope will be held on Thursday March 28, 2024, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee. A time of remembrance will be held at 4:30 PM with Pastor Philip Harrell officiating.
