<p>Robert Elgin Mobley was born on April 3, 1943 in Folkston, Georgia to the Late Earnestine Williams and Johnnie Mobley. On March 22, 2024 he departed this world leaving behind a legacy of love and unwavering dedication to his family. </p><p><br></p><p>In 1965 he married the love of his life of 59 years Maxine Mobley, in this union two children were born Kevin and Karen.</p><p><br></p><p>He attended Bethune High School in Folkston GA and was the first black quarterback in his school’s history. Robert also served 3 years in the US Army as a Paratrooper before moving to Neptune New Jersey where he lived for over 40 years. He worked at Shore Direct Mail/ Musical Heritage as a Warehouse Supervisor for 30 plus years and J Knipper for 10 years.</p><p><br></p><p>He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and attend Second Baptist Church in Asbury Park, NJ where he served on the Usher Board. After moving back to his hometown of Folkston he joined Jerusalem Holiness Church and received the title of Deacon Mobley.</p><p><br></p><p>Robert Mobley loved his family and touched so many lives. He always supported his hometown and would always get up and sing his heart out on any occasion. Through his light, love and compassion he showed the world what it was to be a great man, husband, father, brother, family member and friend.</p><p><br></p><p>He is predeceased by his daughter, Shirlene Haywood and leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Maxine Mobley, two children, daughter, Karen Purnell (Abdul), son, Kevin Mobley; six Grandchildren, Jasmine Brown (James), Kyle Smith (Ziikeeya), Raechelle Martin, Jamir Chaplin, Demetria Ambrister (Toron) and Tameka Douglas (Wille); 11 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild; three brothers, Keith Mobley (Tonya), Belvin Smiley, and Russell Reed; 11 sisters, Jannie Jackson (James), Yolanda Kennedy (Clarence), Stephanie Hamilton (Todd), Marie Evans, Lavern Haywood, Priscilla Groover, Samamtha Sharpe, Yosha Hamilton, Lurena McLeod, Patricia Wheeler and Kay Frances Harris; very special devoted friend, Larry Gibbs, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>A wake/visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Jerusalem Holiness Church (HOGSIC) 6 Mt. Carmel St., Folkston, Ga. 32537 from 5-7 pm.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 @ 2:00 pm at Jerusalem Holiness Church (HOGSIC) 6 Mt. Carmel Street, Folkston, Ga. 31537</p><p><br></p><p>Interment in Mt. In 1965 he married the love of his life of 59 years Maxine Mobley, in this union two children were born Kevin and Karen.

Interment in Mt. Carmel Memorial Cemetery, Folkston, Ga.
