Vardhani Murty, 81, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 23, 2024, after a brief illness.

Vardhani was born on May 19, 1942, in Kalavapudi, Andhra Pradesh, India. Vardhani married Sistla Sri Ramachandra Murty (Rom) in 1959, and shortly thereafter, Vardhani and Rom moved to the United States. Together, they welcomed three children into their lives: Krishna, Leela, and Gieta Leslie.

For the last 50 years, Vardhani called Huntsville, Alabama her home, becoming a cherished member of the community. Vardhani selflessly gave countless hours to a wide variety of organizations, from the arts and civic engagements to the local pickleball league. She was an educator by nature and spent over 40 years working with young children in Montessori schools. She also taught children and adults classical music.

Services will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home on March 30 at 1 PM.
