Tessa Marie Armstrong

Tessa M. Armstrong was born on January 21, 1990, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Kenneth P. “Ken” and Mary J. (Hough) Armstrong. She spent her early years living in Jesup, IA, and attended the Jesup Community Schools. She later attended the Independence and Oelwein Community Schools and graduated from Oelwein High School in 2009. Tessa received her LPN degree from Kaplan Community College in Cedar Falls, IA. Tessa spent several years living throughout Iowa. While living in Nevada, IA, she worked for Priority Envelope. Tessa enjoyed the work she did there and loved her co-workers. She returned to Oelwein in 2020 and went to work for Birch Cabinet and East Penn Manufacturing.

Tessa loved taking care of people, and in 2021 became a Certified Nurse’s Aide. She soon went to work for Maple Crest Nursing Home, Fayette, IA, and later for ABCM Rehabilitation Center – West Campus in Independence, IA.

Tessa had her two children: Adriahna and D’Marius Hill, and they were her whole world. Tessa loved spending every minute she could with her kids. They loved going swimming together, T-ball league, trips to the Omaha Zoo, and the fourth of July holiday. Their favorite holiday was Halloween and loved all the scary antics. Some of the best memories they made were spending time at home, just watching movies at night projected on the side of the house.

She is survived by her two children: Adriahna and D’Marius Hill, her mother, Mary Hough, Hazelton, IA, her father, Ken (Annette) Armstrong, Quasqueton, IA, her maternal grandmother, Marian Hough, Jesup, IA, an aunt Lesllie (Evan) Queen, Mt. Home, AR, her cousins, Summer Menkveld, Corey Sebetka, and Ryan Sebetka, and her godparents, Connie (Blad) and David Funke.

There will not be any services for Tessa, as per her wishes. The Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
