James Michael Allen, Sr., 72, died Friday, March 22, 2024, at his home.

Born July 4, 1951, in Sumter, he was a son of the late James Carol Allen and the late Martha Garret Allen. He enjoyed being outdoors at the beach, saltwater fishing, dove hunting, and camping.

Survivors include one son James “Jay” M. Allen, Jr. (Kristin) of Sumter; two granddaughters, Abigail Grace Allen and Karsyn Leigh Allen; two brothers, Gary Van Allen and Mark Allen (Kathy) both of Sumter; and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held in the Sumter Cemetery.
