Mary Nell Sanchez left our loving arms to enter the eternal embrace of our Lord Jesus on Sunday, March 24, 2024. She was 77 years old and a resident of St. Francisville. A Private Family service will be held at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edward W. Sanchez, Jr. A daughter, Stephanie and son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Barbara. 2 sisters, Roseanne Gautreau and Martha Thomas. A brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Irene Babin. A grandson, Andrew. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Jane Babin. Mary Nell was a graduate of Redemptorist High School and attended LSU. She was a member of Ladies’ Auxiliary of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and served as an Extraordinary Minister. Mary Nell enjoyed spending time with her children and grandson, vacation cruises, deep-sea and freshwater fishing, playing cards and reading. She was an employee of the State of Louisiana for over 30 years. Special thanks to the entire staff at LaCour House and the staff and volunteers of Pointe Coupee Hospice.
