Zachary Dean Boydstun, fondly known as "Zac" by his family and friends, departed this earthly life for his Heavenly home unexpectedly on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the age of 45 years old. Zac joined God's basketball team of angles during his favorite time of year, March Madness and we know he is without a shadow of a doubt watching the games sitting by our Heavenly Father even now, as it was on wherever Zac was during this time of year watching the games with Connor by his side.

Zac was born on January 31, 1979 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the most wonderful mother, Sheri Diane (Seals) Marinko. While growing up, Zac attended Briarwood Elementary, Brink Jr. High and later graduated from Westmoore High School in 1997. During his school years, Zac could be found hanging out with friends and working on his car. Zac first found his passion for basketball when he played for his junior high team and that love continued to grow throughout his life.

After high school, Zac briefly attended Oklahoma City Community College, before going to work full time at Tinker Air Force Base. Zac was currently working as a Lead Planner in the 551st CMXG Squadron. Zac enjoyed his work at Tinker Air Force Base and the many friends, colleagues and opportunities his job afforded him.

In 1997, Zac met a beautiful young woman named Jennifer Dawn Dougherty and the two became inseparable and fell in love. They were united in marriage on September 15, 2001 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Together, Zac and Jennifer shared over 23 years of unconditional love, support, respect, fun, and adventures. Their union of marriage was blessed with the birth of their son, Connor Dean Boydstun on July 26, 2004. Being blessed with his son, raising Connor was the best blessing that they ever could receive. Becoming a father and living the "Dad life" with Connor each and every day was the absolute best highlight of Zac's life. Watching Connor grow, develop and work hard in his studies, on the basketball court, and live his life was his great joy. Zac would light up a room with pride every time he was with his son, and never missed an opportunity to give Connor the best of himself, time, talents and means to make Connor happy! Zac was there with him showing him how to live the best life, every step of the way. Zac absolutely loved being a loving husband, influential father and wholehearted family man to Jennifer and Connor. They were his greatest blessings in life and Zac never took for granted, nor missed, a moment of life without them in it.

Zac was very meticulous about his yard, taking such joy in grooming and landscaping, and beamed with pride when he heard someone say “your yard looks great!” As much as he enjoyed caring for his yard, he equally loved taking care of his cars. Every single weekend, you could find him detailing his, Jennifer’s and Connor’s cars, and making sure they were full on gas. He loved taking care of his family in this small, but meaningful way. Following in his Papa Floyd’s footsteps, Zac was also a proud Mason of the Myrtle Lodge #145 in Oklahoma City. Most importantly, the tremendous legacy that Zac left is the way he gave of himself and dedicated his whole heart to his family and demonstrated endless and unconditional love and support to each member of his family.

While Zac experienced some tremendous hurdles in recent years with his health, Zac remained focused, present, steadfast in his faith, and persevered with insurmountable strength, tenacity, and courage during some overwhelming obstacles. Zac gave his whole heart to trying to heal and be there for his family. He left a legacy of love, family, a drive to work hard in all endeavors, and simply be present and involved each and every day in the lives of those he truly loved with every ounce of his being. While we miss his presence here on earth each and every second since his passing, we rejoice in knowing that he is completely healed, sitting at the side of God's throne watching the rest of March Madness basketball games, with a perfect bracket now, watching over his most beloved family. We hold fast with the knowledge that we will one day be reunited with him in Heaven.

We love you Zac, …Now Go Be Great.
