Alfred Earl Chambers, age 84, of Whitehall, Indiana passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 23, 2024. He was born in Chapel Hill, Indiana on January 23, 1940 to Holland and Lydia (Hedrick) Chambers. Alfred graduated from Smithville High School in 1958, and then served in the United States Army. He retired from C& H Stone, where he was a crane operator, and also from Otis Elevator. Alfred enjoyed working on his cars and tractors, watching sports, especially IU basketball and car racing, and he liked to tinker around in his shop.

Alfred is survived by his daughter, Marcia Cain (Lee), grandchildren, Rachel Holland Cain and Aidan Carter Cain.

Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Lois (Cardwell) Chambers, parents, and brothers, Leonard and Emmit Leon Chambers.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, March 29, 2024 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana 47401.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at The Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice in Alfred's name.
