<p>Georgia J Nixon 99, of New Straitsville passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at The New Lexington Care and Rehabilitation. </p><p>Georgie was born November 14,1924 in New Straitsville, a daughter of the late William and Clara (Ross)Fletcher. </p><p>She retired from Smead Manufacturing of Logan. She was a member of the New Straitsville Methodist Church, and The Eastern Star. She was instrumental in starting the New Straitsville Christmas Lighting Ceremony. She made sure to catch the Cincinnati Reds opening day at Riverfront Stadium or by radio. She was granny to her four granddaughters. </p><p>Survived by her son, Scott Nixon; granddaughters, Ashley (Bill) Neal, Connie (Paul) Barnes, and Dawn (Nathan) Robinette, great grandchildren, Brittnay (John) Walters, Brandon Alfman, Paul (Mariah)Barnes, Clay Williams, Billy Neal and Marissa Neal, great- great grandson Benjamin Walter, her sister Anne Marie Hanning and several nieces and nephews. </p><p>Besides her parents Georgie was preceded in death by her husband Don Nixon, daughter Martha Colvin, granddaughter, Clarissa Nixon- Winnenberg; her brothers, John Fletcher, and Bill Fletcher, brother-in-law, Francis Hanning, son in law Mike Colvin. </p><p>&nbsp;Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday March 26, 2024, at THE J.E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME 118 West Walnut St SHAWNEE Ohio. </p><p>Funeral service will be held at 1: 00 p.m. on Wednesday March 27, 2024, at the New Straitsville Methodist Church, </p><p>&nbsp;Interment New Straitsville Cemetery. </p><p>Eastern Star Services will be held at 8 p.m.at the funeral home on Tuesday March 26. </p>
