Glen Orval Rice, age 76 of Warsaw, MN passed away on March 24th surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morristown on Thursday, March 28th at 10:30 am with Pastor Weslie T. Odom officiating.

Visitation will be at Boldt Funeral Home in Faribault on Wednesday, March 27th from 3pm to 6pm.

Glen, the son of Earl and Elsie Rice, was born on September 11, 1947 in Northfield. He was blessed through his life. His first blessing came in 1968 when he went on a blind date with Patricia Miller and proposed 12 days later. He and Pat married and started their new life in the big city of Faribault in June of 1969. Glen’s second blessing was meeting Terry Jones while working at Red Owl. He would go on to be a lifelong friend and cohort in creating mischief. His third, fourth, fifth and sixth blessings arrived, and he became a dad to three kids and a grandpa to his grandson. They brought much entertainment to his life. Glen worked at McQuay/Daikin in Faribault for 39 years where he cultivated many friendships. His greatest joys were spending time with friends, fishing trips (including ice fishing and summers at Reeds Lake) and hosting happy hours on his back deck with the neighbors.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Pat, his son Christopher of Faribault, his daughter Amy and her husband Bill Weis of Inver Grove Heights, son Peter of Faribault, grandson Nicholas Weis of Arlington, VA, sisters Bernice Beardshear and Eileen Reynolds, and sister-in-law Marcy Rice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Louise Rahman, brother-in-law Kelly Rahman, brother Carl Rice, brother-in-law Charles Beardshear, and brother-in-law Earl Reynolds

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Special Olympics or Rice County Day Activity Center.
