Bernard L. Mayer Obituary

Bernard L. Mayer, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the age of 84. Formally, from Mckeesport, PA. He was the son of Albert E. and Rose Mary (Rice) Mayer.

Bernie served in the United States Army and was the former operator at the former McKeesport Water Authority for over 25 years. He carried a strong faith in God and was a current member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.

He enjoyed riding bikes with his late wife Marcia and was a loving and generous grandfather to Alexander & Tyler Getsy. He was said to be, "Salt of the Earth" by family and friends.Showing the signs of Love, Kindness and generosity.

Bernie is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Lee (Cindy) Brown and her (fiancé; David Roehler) of Verona.  
Grandchildren Alex and Tyler Getsy and former son-in-law Patrick Getsy; many nieces and Nephews. In addition, Bernie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marcia; and brothers, Felix and Albert Mayer.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 9:30 a.m., until the time of blessing and service at 10:30 a.m., in the Willig Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel. Committal will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery.
