Obituary
Phyllis Jean (Snodgrass) Permelia, 88, of Charleston departed this life Friday, March 22, 2024 at her son’s residence with family by her side.
She was born February 15, 1936 in South Charleston, WV. A daughter of the late, Bennie Robert and Tina Florence (Hager) Snodgrass. Also preceding her in death are her husband, John Permelia; one son, Danny Sears (Mary); five siblings, Franklin Dale Snodgrass, Wanda Grass, Jimmy Snodgrass, Nancy Carroll Snodgrass and Benny Snodgrass; one grandchild, Mikie Davis.
Phyllis was a long time member of Connection Point (Davis Creek) Church of God. She enjoyed Church and her Church family. She enjoyed driving and traveling, being in the woods, hunting, fishing, and digging ginseng with her sisters. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Mike McCutchen, Diana Laughlin, Kathy Gillispie, Pam Dunlap (Scott), Faye Permelia, Johnny Permelia (Beth), Igy Taylor (David), Susan Permelia and Rose Overby (Doug); sister, Genieve Vandale; grandchildren, Kelly Davis, Sherri Billanti (Justin), Brad Dunlap (Ashley) and Christian Gillispie (Monica); many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; special friend, Vicki Gerber as well as a host of other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM., Monday, March 25, 2024 at Good Shepherd Mortuary with Pastor Dr. Jason Newsome officiating. Phyllis will be laid to rest in French Cemetery, Berry Hills.
Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service Monday at the mortuary.
