<p>Edmond Eugene “Gene” Turner, 80 of St Paris passed away, on Friday, March 22, 2024, in Springfield Regional Medical Center.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born on August 9, 1943, in Auglaize County, Ohio to the late Edmond Wayne and Willadene (Bennett) Turner.</p><p><br></p><p>Gene retired from Kaffenbarger Trucking Equipment Co. as a welder &amp; machinist after 36 years of service. He collected antique tractors and enjoyed going to the local shows and parades, where he proudly ran his Farmall 460. He built a replica of the 1917 Internation Harvester. He and Vivie loved to go camping and traveling with family.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Vivian “Vivie” H. (Monroe) Turner; “bonus’ daughter, Rebecca Bowers; three brothers, Roland (Karen) Turner, Ricky L. Turner, Donn (Lynn) Yoesting; three sisters, Joan (Donn) Minter, Lois (Pete) Goodwin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>He is preceded in death by their daughter, Lina “Jeannie” Turner, brother; Willis Wayne Turner and sister Roberta (Les) Ward.</p><p><br></p><p>A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 to 1:00PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in ATKINS, SHIVELY &amp; VERNON Funeral Home, St. Paris, Ohio.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00PM in the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy Spence officiating.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Atkins Shively &amp; Vernon Funeral Home in the care of the family.</p><p><br></p><p>Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.vernonfh.com.</p>
