<p>Mrs. Doris G. Burroughs, 93 of Gaithersburg, Maryland and formerly of Rockville, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born in Washington, DC on May 30, 1930 to the late Henry M. and Winifred F. Goundie.<br></p><p><br></p><p>Doris was a graduate of Calvin Coolidge High School. She was an office manager for Washington Nephrology Association for 20 years. A very crafty and creative person, Doris enjoyed ceramics and owned her own kiln. Her other interests were painting, crocheting and knitting in which she often created her own patterns. She loved animals, especially her dog Twix, and throughout her life supported many animal charities.<br></p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Burroughs is survived by her husband of 74 years, Walter B. Burroughs, Sr., and their children Barbara J. Sale (Richard), Walter B. Burroughs, Jr. (Kati), and the late Laura M. Porter (Donnie). She is also survived by two grandchildren Matthew Ryan Burroughs and Lauryn Nicole Burroughs.</p><p><br></p><p>A visitation will be held at Shrine of St. Jude Catholic Church, 12701 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, Maryland on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial offered at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made in her name to The Humane Society of Montgomery County,&nbsp;<a href="//www.mchumane.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://www.mchumane.org/&nbsp;</a>or any local No-Kill animal shelter.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
