May 29, 1947 – March 23, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gabriele Helene Butchart in the early morning hours of March 23, 2024. Gabriele, a cherished soul whose warmth, charm, and intelligence brightened the lives of all who knew her, has left us to reunite with her beloved mother, Earnestine, in eternal peace.

Gabriele’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and the simple joys that make life beautiful. She shared a wonderful journey with her partner, Doug Waterbury (of Smyrna, Georgia), finding joy in each day and comfort in each other’s company. Gabriele’s love for her furry companions, Skipper and Schatzie, was unmatched, filling her home with happiness and wagging tails.

Gabriele was born in Germany and lived abroad for several years of her life in Germany, Italy, and Japan, to mention a few. She was always able to adapt to her surroundings, contributing to her remarkable proficiency in languages and her cultural diversity. She exhibited a natural born gift of being a leader. Gabriele’s friendliness and social ability, paired with her incredible intelligence and work ethic provided her with great life opportunities.

An avid golfer and skilled crocheter, Gabriele found solace and joy in the greens of the golf course and the intricate patterns of her crochet. Her culinary skills were legendary, a testament to her love for creating and sharing delicious meals that brought family and friends together around the table.

Gabriele joins her beloved grandson, Chris (Loni), in the heavens above.

Gabriele’s journey on this earth was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and the joy of being surrounded by those she cherished. As we bid farewell, we hold onto the memories, the moments of joy, and the love she shared so freely.
