Mr. Jesse E. Pullin, Jr., age 89, of Covington, died Friday, March 22, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke. He was the husband of the late Shirley Ann Linkenhoker Pullin.

Mr. Pullin was born March 23, 1934 in Covington, the son of the late Jesse Edward Pullin, Sr. and Mattie Ailstock Pullin. Jesse was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1955. Following graduation, Mr. Pullin served his country as a member of the National Guard. He was employed as a oiler, in plant protection and in the storeroom by Westvaco, Inc. Jesse was a member of the Parrish Court United Methodist Church and he truly loved his church family. Mr. Pullin was a former member of the Covington Fire and Rescue Department. In his spare time, Jesse enjoyed camping, traveling, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Mr. Pullin is survived by a son, Michael "Mike" Pullin and wife, Donna; a daughter, Teresa "Teri" Sowards and husband, Steve; six grandchildren; seven great grandsons; three great granddaughters; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Pullin was preceded in death by a brother, William Kenneth Pullin and two sisters, Hilda Wright and Helen Worley.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Alleghany Memorial Park with Rev. Greg Kropff officiating.
