Donna M Sterr Obituary

Donna M. Sterr, 79, of Egg Harbor Township, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on March 19th, 2024. Donna worked in the school system for Egg Harbor Township for many years and she was an integral participant in the startup of the Union in the cafeteria system. She also worked for the Mainland Regional High School system as a cafeteria attendant and most recently, as a crossing guard for many years for the city of Linwood, where she truly enjoyed her daily interactions with those she crossed, especially the hugs and kisses from dogs!


Donna’s hobbies and interests included music and dancing. She could routinely be found in Lancaster on the weekends, enjoying shopping for candles and enjoying the countryside. She enjoyed the beach, and during her younger years loved to boat and water ski. She loved collecting and showcasing her Longaberger baskets. Donna enjoyed camping, and never missed an opportunity to travel the world with her husband, family and friends. During this time, she was able to foster life-long relationships with many.


Donna is pre-deceased by her parents, David and Winefred (nee Flannigan) Buxton, her biological father Edward Roehm, while serving in the military, also her brother Edward Roehm Jr., sister Carol Augsberger and grandson Brett Sterr.


Donna is survived by her devoted & loving husband of 61 years, Christopher Sterr Sr.; her children, Christopher Sterr Jr. (Stacy), Michael Sterr(Kim) and Patrick Sterr. Grandchildren Brian Sterr(Ashley), Brad Sterr, Jake Sterr, Zach Sterr, Paige Levy, Grace Sterr and Shane Sterr and great grand children Mavrick and Nixon Sterr, and Oaklyn Sterr. Brothers James Roehm and David (Bucky) Buxton, Jr. Goddaughters Renee Turner, Renee (Krumaker)Turner and Lisa (Scannell) Camp as well as many nieces and nephews.


A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26th from 5-7pm and Wednesday March 27th from 10-11am at Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc. located at 1650 New Road Northfield, NJ 08225. A service will immediately follow at 11am. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing New Jersey following services.
