<p>Maxwell Kelly Francis</p><p>June 19, 1940- March 22, 2024</p><p><br></p><p>Maxwell Kelly Francis passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander, Friday March 22, at the age of 83. Born June 19, 1940 at Grand Bruit, NL, Max and his family moved to Isle aux Morts when he was 8 years old. </p><p><br></p><p>Max was predeceased by wife Geraldine, daughter Sharon Rose, parents Emanuel and Rosanna, brothers Ralph, Henry (Phyllis), and Freeman (Rita), brother-in-laws Wallace Pearce and William Ingram, parents-in-law Ambrose Billard and Julia (Scott), in-laws Margaret, Levi (Rebecca Frampton), Clarence (Bernice Payne), Ambrose (Emily Robinson), Gladys (Dan Lawrence), Raymond Green, Joseph Lucas, and Great grandson, John Harvey.</p><p><br></p><p>Left to mourn with broken hearts are children Kelly (Roberta), Burnt Islands; Alvin (Debbie), Isle aux Morts; Randy (Dorothy), Burlington, ON; Robin (Kirby), Glovertown, Grandchildren: Shannon (Dartmouth,NS); Kelly (Natalie), Port-aux- Basques; Scott (Jill), Paradise; Lori (Zach), St.John’s; Donna (Burlington, ON); , Kaleb and Kacey, Glovertown, Great-grandchildren Dalton, Nate, Chase, Ty, Caitlyn, Alexandra, Sadie, and Ellie, Sisters Dorothy Ingram (Margaree) and Nina Pearce (Port-aux-Basques), Sister in Laws Elizabeth Francis, Harriet Green (Burgeo), Louisa Lucas (Stephenville Crossing), Winter (Anne) Billard, Eileen (Ephriam) Herritt, Marilyn Billard (Dartmouth, NS), Lindsay (Bernice) Billard and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. </p><p><br></p><p>Dad spent over 40 years as the stockroom clerk at the fish plant in Isle-aux-Morts, enjoyed many summers with family and friends at the cabin at Codroy Valley, and loved his trips in the country moose hunting with his sons and buddies, solitary trips trouting and berry picking, and his boat rides with Kelly for a few fish. In his later years, you could be sure to see dad on his frequent walks along the Burnt Island or Port aux Basques highway before he moved to central Newfoundland. Dad continued his strolls in Glovertown, easily making friends along the way with anyone he would meet. </p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to thank everyone who provided care for Max during his illness, particularly Doreen Harvey, Wilma Munden, and daughter-in-law Debbie who you could always count on, the staff or Oram’s Birchview Manor, Glovertown- particularly Pauline and Natasha who treated dad with such patience, kindness and love, and the staff of Lakeside Homes, Gander, with special thanks to McKayla Oldford for all the extra visits and concern. Thank you to dad’s friend, a true gentleman, Edwin Warren for often keeping dad company on his walks, and continuing to check in on dad and visit with his late wife Kay after dad moved to Glovertown. </p><p><br></p><p>In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. </p><p>Funeral Services will be held at Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Isle-aux-Morts, NL, interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Cemetery Road.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations in dad’s memory can be made to the Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Isle-aux-Morts, NL, or the Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Program at Glovertown Academy. </p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements entrusted to the care of Oram's Funeral Home Glovertown.</p><p><br></p>
