Elizabeth Ann Moulton Obituary

A Catholic Mass for Elizabeth Moulton, 88, of Athens, formerly of Scotland, Texas will be held 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland, Texas with Father Michael Moloney officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens, Texas.


Betty Ann passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024, in Athens, Texas.


Elizabeth Ann Moulton was born April 17, 1935, in Scotland, Texas the daughter of Jacob Schenk and Mary Catherine (Steinburger) Schenk. She attended Archer City schools and attended the Academy of Mary Immaculate in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1953 before returning to Archer City to graduate. She was an Air Force wife for many years where she travelled with her husband and family all over the country while he was serving. She then worked at Russell Stover, Sprague Electric where she built electrical capacitors and at Helmet Industries where she built fan blades on jet engines. She was a very creative and artsy woman who loved creating pottery, stained glass pieces as well as quilting and collecting bird figurines. Grandma Betty loved most of all spending time with her family and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dennis “Ray” Moulton; son Michael Lindeman; daughter Debbie Gordon and several brothers and sisters.


She is survived by her three children Donna Marie Irizarry and husband Ray of Keller, Texas, Benedict “Little Benny” Lindeman Jr., of Burkburnett, Texas, Timothy Matthews and Elizabeth of Wichita Falls; one brother Danny Schenk and wife Donna of Scotland, Texas; son in law Bob Gordon of Athens; six grandchildren, Stephanie Lindeman, Chris Irizarry and wife Rebekah, Dawn Irizarry-Gray, Robby Gordon, April Christine Gordon, Destinee Lindeman Hill; numerous great grandchildren and one special great-great grandson Kayden Gordon.


A Catholic Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, Texas


A Catholic Rosary will be held prior to the service at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland, Texas.


Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
