Roger Dean Lowe Obituary

Roger Lowe (69) passed away peacefully with family at his side on March 20, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. Roger was born January 21, 1955 to Vernon and Dorothy (Lykken) Lowe in Mankato, MN.

Roger was a dedicated, humorous, and loving husband and father. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, wisdom, and kindness. Known for his wise and straightforward nature, Roger was a kind man and loved by many. He had a deep love for Jesus.

Roger attended Richfield High School and later graduated from the University of Minnesota. He found joy in various occupations throughout his lifetime, working as an airline pilot, construction project manager, and manager at FEMA.

Roger admired the outdoors, the ocean, and fulfilled a lifelong dream of living in Hawaii with his wife, Mary Kay. In his free time, Roger loved tending to his lawn and garden, watching the Minnesota Vikings, reading history books, drawing, and admiring muscle cars, including his beloved '69 Roadrunner. He had a special love for animals, especially large, unique, protective dogs. Roger appreciated 60’s music, and particularly enjoyed listening and dancing to The Beatles with Mary Kay.

Roger is survived by his wife, Mary Kay; sons, Christopher and Ryan; Granddog, Grinch; siblings, Ron (Kay) Bailey and Gerald Lowe, as well as many friends in Minnesota and Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Roger's life will be held at Gill Brothers Southwest Funeral Chapel, 5801 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55419 on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 5-7 p.m., with memory sharing at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Hope Lodge, where Roger stayed while receiving treatment for cancer: www.cancer.org/support-programs-and-services/patient-lodging/hope-lodge/minneapolis.
