Richard W. Fay was born April 26, 1938, to parents Willis Oregon, passed 1979 and Vivian Elizabeth Fay passed 1941.  He married Alice Boerger in 1958, and enjoyed 65 years together.

They were the parents to five sons:  Michael W. (Barb), R. Regan (Donna), Kip E. (Jacqueline), Bradley D. (Mihoko), and Roger W. (Irene). He never missed his boys' sports games. He enjoyed all the kids, and they loved him. He had eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and twenty-two step grandchildren.

Richard worked at the Marion Whirlpool for thirty-eight years, thirty in supervision. He loved farming and raising Suffolk sheep. The Hardin County Fair was most important to him, as was the judging of sheep, five sons raised and shown in competition. He sold fair lambs throughout the state. Lambs from his flock took grand champion In Hardin, Logan, Hancock Fairs in l996.

Other activities included Junior Achievement, Rooster Club, coaching, gardening. He and Alice produced a local advertising bi-weekly paper from 1966-1971.

Surviving is one sister, Patricia.  Preceded in death, one sister, Connie who passed in 1959; brother, Gary who passed in 2005; brother in laws, Larry Boerger passed in 1994; Philip Berger passed in 2012;  Ken Weaver passed in 2006; Sister in laws, Julia Weaver passed in 1955; Betty Kavanagh who passed in 2014, granddaughter, Danielle Fay who passed in 2002; Sabrina Zacharias who passed in 2000, and grandson, Justice Carr who passed in 1997.

Funeral services for Richard will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Karel Castro officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the funeral home in Kenton. 

Memorial donations in Richard's honor may be made to the Samaritan's Purse or the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
